Download the update zip file
First, download the update zip file. Then, dump the contents into the Pulse eCommerce or Pulse Lockbox installation folder, overwriting the existing files. That’s it. That’s the whole process.
Where are the update zip files located?
The files are located in Google Drive \ Leahy\Software\Leahy Developed. The msi file is used for a new installation. The zip files are used for updates. Note the zip files are stamped with the date of the release.
- Pulse eCommerce\Installation\eCommerce1-9-2024.zip
- Pulse Lockbox\Installation\Lockbox1-9-2024.zip
What is the best way to put the zip file on the customer’s network?
There are several options.
- Directly through remote access if available. This is the preferred method as it does not involve the customer and can be done anytime without scheduling.
- Email. For more tech-savvy customers, a Google Drive link can be emailed to the customer. A zip file cannot be sent as an attachment. It’s too large, and zip files get flagged as dangerous. Send the email download link to the customer and instructions on what to do with it.
- Zoom meeting. Set up a Zoom meeting with the customer and give them the file through the Zoom chat.
Considerations for customers running both eCommerce and Lockbox.
If the customer is running both eCommerce and Lockbox, and has both programs using the same Pulse database, then both programs must be updated simultaneously. If one is updated, then the other one must be updated as well. Note this is the Pulse database, not a Macola database. Both programs can use the same Pulse database (usually called Pulse), or they can use separate ones (i.e. PulseECommerce, PulseLockbox). To check this in either application, click on settings \ Pulse Database. Check to see which database each application points to.
